the usb drive is not being detected when connected via utg. PLEASE HELP

When i connect the usb drive, the pop up which usually comes is not coming. And when i try to get into the usb drive using file manager(ASTRO) , it shows that the drive is empty( but the drive actually has data in it),

u mean by OTG right ? Go to settings > Storage and check if there is any device shown under external USB storage, if yes, then your Drive is working fine, and might be possible that the data in it got hidden by viruses, and hidden files will not be shown by ASTRO

yeah i meant otg.. in the storage there is no devices in the external storage.

It was working fine till yesterday. and today it went all wrong. and now usb drive, mouse or anything of that sort is not being detected.

then either your drive or the OTG cable is defected ! try connecting different hardware with otg cable to your phone

Kindly Select PC Companion mode for USB connection in cellphone 1st.

i connected the phone to my pc in pc companion mode and then disconnected it after a few minutes. then when i tried the OTG , it started working. Thanks so much for your patient and timely help.

I don't know why my problem was resolved but by gods grace it is all solved. Anyboby who has my same problem ( whoes problem is not solved by this method ) should take advice from adarshgurjar and XperiaUuU.
