I am trying to Update my new Walkman Wt19i to Android 4.0 using PC Companion,on my Windows Vista, and I cannot go past the Preparation Stage into Update mode.
After holding the 'Down Volume' key and plugging in the USB cable in the phone, the light turns Green on the phone and PC Companion does nothing.
I noticed that when PC Companion, During preparation is checking the phone, it vibrates and is turned off for some reason and could be related to the problem? I have tried various things, including, reinstalling PC Companion, just using the Update Service, and using a different USB port on Windows Vista, but still PC Companion does not go into the Update Stage?
I am located in Macedonia(Europe) and my SI is 1253-9650
Can someone help me update my Walkman to Android 4.0 please??

What if you just connect the phone in turned off state holding the volume down key pressed so the LED turns green. You don't have to open PCC or SUS, just connect the phone like this to your computer and go to the device manager and check if the drivers are installed correctly. If not select to update them and point the search for drivers to the drivers folder in the PCC folder.
If the drivers seem to be fine select to uninstall them, disconnect the phone and connect it again as per above.
Now try to run the update again.

Thanks Johan..yes, the Windows driver was the problem in the update process!
