Iphone support for KDL-40lx900

I wanted to control my KDL-40lx900 from an iPhone app, and was supprised to leard tha this is not supported for my tv. A google search gave no mantion of a firmvare ugrade for my model that would allow for this. Can this be true in 2013, or is an update pending?

Yes the Sony app unfortunately doesn't work with this model unfortunately, however you could try using 'Zeebox' or 3rd party apps as these might offer a degree of control?

Thanks, but those apps require that you mount ir-hardvare and that defeats the purpuse. Both my TV and my iPhone is connected to the same LAN and should be able to communicate that way.

it is not a low end tv, and I foolishly expectet sony to upgrade the TV as new tech became avalable.

Even my cheap set-top-box can do this???
