Anyone know how I update my graphics driver for Windows 8

I have a 5 year old Sony Vaio desktop and having updated to Windows 8 find my video display using the Phoenix flight simulator is jumpy and no longer smooth as it was when on Windows 7. Apparently I still have the Microsoft Basic Render Driver installed on my graphics card and I need to install the latest available drivers for this card but have no idea how to do this task!!

Sony doesn't seem to be much help and there is no way of ever communicating with a human being at Microsoft!!

We need the full Vaio model as it is not possible to help without knowing the specifications of your Vaio and in particular your Graphics Adapter.
