My 2 weeks old VGN-FS115M isn't able to burn a proper
MP3-file on CD. All tracks have one or more tics even when burned on 4 speed.
Some one has the same problem? Am I doing something wrong? Is there a build-inn Sony-bug to prevent MP3 copying (or am I paranoid?)
Same tracks, same disks are burned perfectly on my 7 year old desktop.
Are you burning them as data or CD Audio?
They are burned as CD audio. It is possible to play, sound is perfect, but every track has tics, like listening to the car's CD player while driving off road to Dakar.
First I thought the MP3 files were bad, but, my desktop burnes perfect CD's from these files.
Also adjusted max. speed to 4 speed, result was the same.
I write audio disks @ 2x
Use Nero CD Speed, to check your Drive quality.
thanks for your answer, what do you mean by "Nero CD speed"?
Nero CD Speed
Download it and burn a test-CD.
You can check the features of the drive, the burn-quality, the read-quality, and a lot other stuff. Really useful.
Did it,
till 10 speed, copying is OK, 12 speed and higher failed. There were no sync errors and 25 data errors.
The manual tells that if the number of data errors is not too high, you probably won't hear them. Unfortunately they do not tell how much is too high.
DAE score was 100.0 , so I guess the drive is oke.
Than, I still cannot explain the quality difference between the old cd writer in my desktop and this new sony cd/dvd writer.
(Maybee my grandmother is right and where things better in the past.....)
Have you tried burning an audio CD @ 2x?
See if that produces better results (yeah I know takes 30mins)
mmmh, No Errors but only 9 speed with my drive. I burn my CDs with 8 speed and I have no problems. I think you must do the same with 10 speed.
The DAE score has only to do with the reading quality.
