The battery indicator on my VAIO VGN-NR10E/S laptop running Windows Vista HP has started behaving strangely.
The battery icon in the System Tray shows “100 available, (plugged in charging)”. If I switch off the AC, let the battery level drop to say 90% then switch the AC back on the icon shows charging for 30 seconds then stops. The text says 90% and does not increase. If I switch off the AC, power down the laptop then switch on the AC and power it up then it again says “100 available, (plugged in charging)”.
Power Option is Balanced. The laptop will not start on AC only with the battery removed.
Can anyone please tell me what is happening and how I can correct it?
