Brand New VAIO Pro cannot update VAIO Update

Brand New VAIO Pro cannot update VAIO Update

I am just configuring a brand new VAIO Pro model SVP1322C5E.

It shipped with Win 8.1.

When I run the VAIO update program it comes up with a dialog box saying "A new version of VAIO Update is available. VAIO Update cannot be used unless it is updated. Update now?"

I click on yes, the dialog box disappears and nothing happens. Tried multiple times, rebooted, nothing.

I have updated various software from the Sony support site, including VAIO Care (v8.4.0.1426). Still no change.

I have run WIndows updates. Still no change.

 

Can you tell me how to get the latest VAIO Update installed please?

Additional info - current version of VAIO Update installed is 6.3.1.10120

Greetings from Prague. Got a feedback from Sony Czech Rep. saying that it's a Sony problem and Sony are working on it. Not more not less. So let's see what's going to happen - and when.

Indeed I think everybody who has a newish Sony has the same problem, there is other threads about this problem.
