Changing DVD drives

I have a Vaio RX201. Would like to get DVD burner for editing home video. Is it better to change CD-RW drive, ie is this easy to do, and change the little panel at front, or go for an external model via Firewire connector(easier but costs twice as much!!)
Any suggestions of models, Sony, Pioneer, NEC

Is the graphics card easy to change?

Thanks

Apparently it's not easy to change the drives as the sizes don't always match.

If you do, go for something like Pioneer or NEC

As for the GFX it's a doddle.

RX201 doesn'nt have a DVD writer of any sort. The graphics card is a Ti4200 64 Mb - getting on a bit now

That's why I need to change them!!

Anyway, looking at DRU 700 DVD burner, are these easy to fit?
thanks

ohh im getting confused i thought the rx series is newer than the rs
isnt the rx the one with the little dip in the top ????

i dont know how your pc comes apart but on mine it is fairly easy to change the drive

you have to obiously take the chassis of the pc and then to get to the front of the bay i had to unclip 8 clips for the whole plastic front bit of the pc then you just slide the drve out
