Controlling a satellite box with Giga Pocket

Can a PCV-RZ16G with Giga Pocket control a Sony Satellite box using either a serial cable or IR?

I am interested in setting up a media server in my home that can serve video, music and images to other PCs and sony's new Roomlink appliance...

I know the version that came with my RX590G cannot, but maybe Sony have updated it for the new RZ series.
