E series ejecting cd/dvd drive

I have a new sve1512 which randomly ejects the cd/dvd drive when empty. This is the second identical laptop that has done this. The computer will be sat on the table, no dvd or cd in it and with no user input will suddenly eject. It does it randomly and started doing it straight out of the box....any ideas??

Hi chrollis,

I don’t have a solution for you but would suspect a hardware switch/button problem. This is not normal and would suggest that you speak to Sony Support to have this investigated.

why is this marked as solved? it isnt? for over a year sony have failed to fix this. its been to the repair centre 3 or 4 times and they cant fix it. Just got it back today for the 4th time and it still ejects, they cant fix it and wont replace it, my advice dont ever buy overpriced sony rubbish....

Probably an action of an over enthusiastic Mod! I assume they thought the suggestion to contact support was the correct answer – obvious not given your experience.. I have removed the ‘Solved’ marker.
