i have installed windows 7 ultimate. now the S1, volime, AV MODE buttom not working. can anyone help me to fix this? this is my laptop VGN-FW31ZJ i brought with vista home priminum 64bits but now i have installed windows 7 ultimate 32 bits.
man is anyone here to help?
You may have tried this already. All I can suggest is to reinstall all the Sony Original Utilities. We have seen problems before with Ultimate not supporting all the features in Home Premium - there is something odd with Ultimate not recognising software that works in Home Premium.
You can download the necessary Utilities from the download page for your model here: -
http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-FW31ZJ
and you will need to install all the Utilities that were preinstalled when you bought your Vaio.
You need these Original Vista Utilities: -
SFEP Driver
Sony Shared Library
Vaio Event Service
Setting Utility Series
to fix the problems you mention but I would also install: -
Power Management
Vaio Smart Network
Vaio Control Centre
Just check they support all 32-bit Systems - it looks like all the utilities do but some of the drivers are 64-bit only so if you need any of these, you may have to look at the Windows 7 Upgrade drivers for a different model. Try the FW31M here:

Good Luck
thank you very much Blencogo. i have now installed this drivers.
SFEP Driver
Sony Shared Library
Vaio Event Service
Setting Utility Series
Power Management
Vaio Smart Network
Vaio Control Centre
now the S1 button, volime, back, forward buttons are working fine. thanks again. but the AV MODE button is not working. how can i fix that? and where can i download that program me & vaio to creat a backup cd, and many other. which was preinstalled.
