Is there a special order of installing the drivers and utilities? beacause I don't get my fn keys, jogdialer and other stuff working. I installed all the drivers but nothing will work.
Head over to vaio-link and download the newest drivers.
It shouldent matter which order you install the drivers, just make sure you get the correct ones for your OS.
I have done that. The software wouldn't work. Is it also necesarry to update you bios for the software?
And what about the updates from Microsoft? Can I first install all the MS updates before I install the vaio software?
I've tried it again but when I start notebook setup I get the popup with:
"You cannot use the SXBIOS service. The installation of the Sony notebooksetup may have been corrupted. Please reinstall Sony Notebook Setup"
OK,
Install the OS first
Then Sony Notebook Setup
Then Sony Hotkey Utility
Then everthing else.
still not working.
I've installed the OS (XP Pro NL SP1) and then the notebooksetup. When I start the notebook I get a error. Then I installed the shared libraries and the I get this error:
"cannot open SnyUtils.dll"
when I click OK then I get:
"Sony notebooksetup does not support to model name of this machine. Please get the newest notebooksetup"
when I click OK I get:
"A Model name of this computer is not recognized
select a model name"
My name of my model is not in that list. I 've a PCG-GR114EK
I download the newest notebooksetup from the vaio website and installed also the newest BIOS.
WHAT TO DO?
Before I reinstalled my laptop everything was allright, I had also Windows XP Pro NL SP1 on it and no problems with the vaio software.
Make sure all the utils are in NL, otherwise they cannot be installed (sony check the language).
on this site: http://www.vaio-link.com the utils are for ALL languages. Or is that the wrong site?
Nope thats correct
The utils I downloaded and installed are from that site. And are the latest versions. But they are still not working.
