when I switch on it fires up but no HD light. blank screen. just a power light,no POST nothing....
any one got any ideas.

so if any one can help !!!!!????

as i do not know should I sell it for spares or try to repair it

Trying to pinpoint the cause without seeing your Vaio could be difficult, do you hear anything running from inside your Vaio.

As to what to do, if you're unsure on what's the cause you could see if a local repairer in your area can give you a free quote then you can decide on your next course of action..

hi,everything seems to be running, fans etc. can hear when HDD accessed, tried to remove CMOS battery for a couple of minutes,tried to remove the ram module, just in case to see the difference, but it still won't post, tried to recoconnect the video card...nothing
could it be the mobo or vid or ram ?
