Webcam Not Working After Upgrade To Windows 8 Pro

Hi all,

I have just upgraded my VAIO laptop SVE1511P1EW,  from Windows 7 Home Premium to Windows 8 Pro. Now the integrated webcam and microphone are not working.  I can see the mic listed on Device Manager but can not see the webcam anywhere.  There is no Imaging catagory on Device Manager.

I have done all what Microsoft and Sony ask to do before and after upgrade but still have problem.

I would apprecite any help from the community.

Hi emadabedi and welcome.

Until Sony decide which models are to be supported for Windows 8 and provide drivers, it may not be possible to install a fully working version of Windows 8.

Windows 8 may well require a firmware update for the camera to work - there is one available for some models already.

Those of us who have been through Vista and Windows 7 upgrades have learned patience and only installed the upgrade after being sure the support and drivers are available.
