I have just bought a 2002 mondeo and want to fit my CDX-GT414U. Can I retain steering column controls? I already have patch cables to fit 1996 Escort but there was no steering column control to worry about. Will I need different/additional cables? Thanks in advance.

Hi chippy56,

I think the answer to your question is most probably yes, but I suspect that you may need different cables.  Usually it's a matter of getting a patch lead for whatever stereo you have - obviously a Sony in your case, and then a further lead that is specific to the car you have.  I've found these guys: Connects2 (see link) to be pretty good, although I think it's always worth a phone call or e-mail to them to check compatibility before you spend your money.
