In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone/tablet". Do this without your phone connected. You will then get a guide that will tell you how and when to connect to the PC: The phone shall be turned off when connecting to the PC.
