Xperia J not responding

Hi, my phone stopped working last night. It turns on and lets me unlock it, but the inside is messed up. It works for the first couple minutes, but then everything stops responding. I've tried restarting it, taking out the battery, just leaving it alone for a couple hours, and nothing is working. I even got a message saying that Xperia Home is not responding and asking if I'd like to close it. The screen is now black but still lit with the backlight, and the bar of info at the top is still there but with the incorrect time showing. Please help me, I really can't afford to buy another phone, I've only had this one for 14 months.

You may need to perform a software repair using PC companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 60% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

Have you tried to turn off the device and only connect when prompted? That is the key for it to work.

Okay thanks... Would it be a good idea for me to stop by somewhere like The Source and see what they have to say?

Where have you bought your device from? You should contact them.
