Xperia Z1 dead

Hi,

I've tried emailing Sony, but no answer, so now I'm trying this forum.

My Xperia Z1 is almost completely dead. The screen is completely black, and there are no response when pushing any of the buttons. The only sign of life is:

- When connecting the wall charger, the red led is flashing quickly. About one flash per second.

- When connecting the USB to a computer, there is a steady red led while the computer is searching for a driver. Once the driver is installed, the led starts flashing. Steady red light interupted by a short dark period every 4-5 seconds. The computer recognises the phone as an "input USB unit".

I've tried the following:

- Power button + vol+

- Power button + vol-

- The red forced shutdown button

- Update in PC Companion (phone not recognised)

- Charging for a couple of hours, and then trying all of the above

- Charging for 24 hours, and then all of the above

- Removing SIM, and then all of the above

- Connecting the phone to the computer in flash mode (holding vol- while connecting)

None of the above actions gives any sign of life. Still it is only the red led flashing when connecting the usb or the charger.

Any idea??

Rune

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Sorry to hear about your phone.

You can also try kaming a repair of the phones software using PC Companion and see if that works.

Start PC Companion but do not connect the phone and go to Support zone -> Software update -> repair phone. When you get to the step where it wants you to connect the phone, hold the red button to force a shutdown and then connect it with vol- pressed.
If that doesn't help i recommend that you contact a service location or your local support team. I've checked our systems and we have not received any email from you so the one you sent must have failed in delivery.
