I have silver XZ which had a horizontal stripe on touch screen that didnt work. Plus, the brightness would go up and down without any touch.

The phone went to official repair and I got it today. Touch workswor well, but the brightness still moving up and down.

Anyone had this same problem?

those are two different topics, try this

settings > display > adaptive brightness > off

as for the touchscreen issue, I don't have that problem, test the touchscreen:
