My SIM card is read by the mobile, but it there isn't service. I changed the card, restarted mobile, and reset mobile's factory, but nothing changed
Hi @ZEESHAN56, sorry to hear about this.
Have you tried any of the troubleshooting that I have previously posted in this thread? If you haven't done that, please do and let me know if that helped!
Holy smokes! I'm so glad I found this thread! I just hope it's still active. I have a Sony Xperia D6603 and this literally happened to me today. So I was listening to music (Spotify) and using Google Maps for navigation. Phone was working fine, full 4G signal and battery at 80-something %. All of a sudden, I get a warning message that my phone battery is low (it reported 0%) and then shutdown. When I turned it back on, it reported 70% but that I had no signal and no SIM card detected.
Pulled SIM out and back in, and the phone now takes +1 min to initialize the SIM card (previously it was under 10 seconds) and after the I enter the SIM unlock code, it cannot find any signal.
I've already replaced the SIM card with the carrier and ran a full factory reset on the device. When I go into Settings>More>Mobile Networks I have the correct network type selected (4G preferred/WCDMA/GSM) but when I select Service Providers from the list all the phone does is searches for networks. I've let this search run 10 minutes now and it does not find any type of network at all.
Any thoughts or recommendations?
No damage to phone, all software up to date, working without issue for a couple of years now and all of a sudden this popped up.
Thanks in advance for the assistance.
Hi @PetiG, sorry to hear about this!
The thread is still active, no worries!
In your case, the SIM card is at least detected but since it can't find any networks when you search for them, it could be related to the antenna(s) in the device not working correctly.
There isn't that much troubleshooting left do to since you have already done a lot of the steps on your own, but do you have a different SIM card to try in the phone? Preferably from a different operator if one of your friends, family members or a colleague has a Nano SIM from a different operator that you can mount in your device and see if you get a network connection, or if you can find some networks when you do a search.
Should that not help, perform a software repair using Xperia Companion as this will also reinstall the software in the device, something that a normal factory reset does not do. Just keep in mind that all data stored on the internal storage will be deleted so create a backup with the same program before you start the repair.
Let me know if that helps!
