Sony Xperia Z - Dead, won't turn on, won't charge, PC doesn't recognise

Hi there

Bought an Xperia Z about a month ago. Had slight lag issues but nothing too serious.

My phone ran down and the battery died two days ago. I put it on the charge (its been on the charge pretty much ever since) with the red LED lit up. LED turns off completely when unplugged.

Phone will not turn on at all; have tried all of the manual resets (holding power button and volume button etc); have read these forums and searched the web for a solution to no avail. PC doesn't recognise the phone so can't reset it via PC Companion. Basically, I have an $800 unresponsive brick.

Very very disappointed to say the least. Phone was very well looked after, and to have it die simply because the battery ran down is extremely worrying. I've seen that this issue is very common yet there doesn't seem to be any definitive fix for it whatsoever.

Any help that anyone can give me would be really appreciated

Hi. I was having the same problem. Red light on while on charger, otherwise dead. I took out the SD card and it started working again.  Sometimes the SD cards get corrupt and the phone stops working. I hope this works for you.

- pressed the button on / off simultaneously with VOL +, the mobile phone after 8 sec. will vibrate once and spent another 5 sec. vibrating three times.

- this should turn it off

- then power back on with the power button

@Khan16

The only reason I created an account on this forum was to thank you

I had completely forgotten about that tiny, phone-saving button Neutral_Face

I thought I had an expensive brick on my hands, but this returned it to life!

Again, thank you! Grinning_Face

I had the same problem , my Sony Xperia z went off , I tried every reset method but no response , red blinking led on charger, PC won't recognize the phone , I took it to a local service it turned out to be the baterry , the baterry was in excellent condition but all of sudden due to wiring disconnection it went off , I changed the battery and it's back to life.
