What production week was the redesigned back cover introduced that fixes the flash bleed issue?
A lot of Z1 Compact owners with early build handsets annoyed with the flash bleed issue over on another forum are changing there back covers to the Z1F glass one to cure the flash bleed problem.
I could do with a new phone & the Z1 Compact will do me for a couple of years BUT I dont want to get lumbered with an early build one with flash bleed problems.
I do have a screen protector. Its the Case Mate for Z1C.
It could be related to that. Will you try and remove it?
When I write a text message the phone vibrates, but after that the vibration dies. and The phone stops vibrating, vibration not work for all and not work Sony diagnostic test. To get the vibration active again, I need to tilt the phone horizontal or shake it. i have been trying to do several factory resets but it does not work, update OS not work too. It must be a hardware problem? setting ? software?
@Forky I think you should look for units that have the build 14W11 or above. It was said in many forums that Sony have fixed the ring outside the lens.
@Bionder - Thanks for that, its a real shame Sony just wont hold there hands up & admit they messed up, surely Sony could do some kind of warranty campaign to swop the backs for the early build handsets that suffer from flash bleed - a company being honest & fixing there mistakes would surely gain more customers & sales in the future.
Having had bad experiences with Samsung & Motorola handsets in the past my handset choice is down to Sony or Nokia, there is a Nokia warranty service point in my local town & i've had great service from them in the past when I had a problem, i have been looking at Nokia handsets, they are starting to look interesting to me again.
A Sony Z1 Compact would do me for a while as long as I didn't end up with an early flashbleed duff one.
My previous phone was Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc S. I switched to Xperia compact because of it's size same as my old phone... I've been using my phone almost 2 weeks now. I really love it... Then I upgrade my phone to 4.4.2 KitKat, i don't know if this is a repost but my ring tone and message tone alert is too weak, I won't notice it until put vibrate on it... Plus when I upragaded to kitkat somewhat i lost my original theme, somehow i miss... But my primary concern is the ringing volume is too weak to notice eventhough you also check the increasing ringtone... I've also upgraded to build 14.3.A.0.757, so far the ringing volume is my problem.... Thanks!!! Still I love this next to my Arc S..:smileysmileythumbsup::smileysmileythumbsup:
Hello, I have been eyeing this phone since it was released.
Was currently using Xperia Go and planning to change to Z1 Compact. (Or do you guys have any other suggestion? Price is not a problem. I just want a phone that fits in hand. Not too big)
I am just wondering:
1. Is this phone compatible with Smartphone Attachable Lens-style Camera DSC-QX100?
2. On my Xperia Go, I've been experiencing dead area on screen and that's annoying. Will this persist in Z1C?
3. What's in the box if I buy this phone at Malaysia? Will they include earphones?
4. Can the front camera be used for a video phone call? I've heard complaints from my friends who are using Z1, Z and Z Ultra that they can only use the front camera for video call only on Skype or other third party apps, instead of the usual video phone call.
I'll be waiting for the answers. Thanks!
The Z1 Compact is starting to appeal less & less to me now, what with all the software bugs & flashbleed issue plus Sony keeping quiet on here.
Ill hang on to my Arc S for a bit longer as the forthcoming Nokia Lumia 930 look's very interesting & im going to wait for the official reviews before I make a decision to part with my money.
As someone who has only had Sony Ericsson phone's for nearly the last decade it seems the quality & customer care has now taken a downward turn.
Sony really need's to step back & take a look at what it is doing before it drops the ball completely in the mobile market.
How do you open the back cover so i can restart my phone as its frozen for some odd reason
