Xperia Z headphone jack won't detect headphone
I was listening to music and then after a while I realized the music wasn't coming from my earphones anymore but from the phone's speakers, even when the earphones were plugged in. I tried plugging them in again several times, still won't work. Is it a software update issue, or a hardware issue? My earphones work fine on my laptop, so i don't think it's an issue with my earphones.

same issue here.
for the third time now my audio jack started to have a loose contact and ended in not being usable at all.
I sent the phone to the repair service twice - then it worked for a few feeks until the failure came up again.
It would be a hard job for sony to convince me that it will be fixed permanently.
Had a talk to the customer service and they showed no sign of insight or goodwill.
I went over to buy a toolkit and audio jack replacement and will fix it on my own (probably every 6 weeks).
sony support, do you hear me?

Here what I did to get it working again:
- Go to Settings > Apps > ALL > Smart Connect. and clear it's data.
- Go to Play Store and install SoundAbout.
- Open SoundAbout app and go to Media Audio and select your headset type in my case I selected [Wired Headset (with Mic)]
- Plug-in your headset and the device should detect it now! :smileysmileywink:
Note:
After getting your headset working you can go ahead and uninstall SoundAbout :smileysmileythumbsup:

Hit the phone
Plug another earplugs that worked magically
I cleared smart connect data still not working
I force stop and disabled smart connect, then suddenly started to work again.
Why they called smart to that app?
