Hi I've been trying to expand storage by putting a 32gb micro SD card into the slot, but the card won't stay in. The phone recognises the SD card, but the card is "removed" whenever I let my finger go. I've tried two other micro SD cards and they won't stay either. I can hear the "click", but afterwards the card still bounces out.
The phone is not damaged and is hardly used. Does anyone else have this problem? How can I fix it, or do I have to send it back to Sony (would rather not as I need the phone...).
Thanks in advance!
ps: Also does the battery life shorten after many cycles of recharging (i.e. would a brand new phone's battery last longer than a 6 month old battery, if so roughly by how much?)
The problem with the sticky papers and tape is that when it gets hot, the glue may become fluid. After a while, the card slowly pops out again and pushes open the lid. The phone may switch of or reset, which is annoying.
The solution I found is to buy a pack of thin flat wooden tooth picks (I used the brand Jordan, thin). These are in fact very thin wedges because of the sharp triangular shape. Insert the micro-sd card in untill it is fully in the slot. Place a tooth pick under the micro sd-card on the left and the right side until it can go no further (don't force it), then place one in the middle. Take a sharp pencil and draw a line on the picks where the edge of the slot is. Then remove the picks, cut of the tips of the picks with scissors where you drew the line. Now you have three tips of the picks. Again enter the card in the slot en put the tips under the card, one left, one right and one in the middle. This solution works very good since then. The card has'nt popped out any more, the lid stays closed and you don't have to be afraid that any glue will make the slot dirty or sticky. I was very happy to save the money and to save the planet to not buy I new mobile. Good luck.
Hi Just tried a variation on the sticky tape for my Sony Xperia Z3 Compact. I used two tiny pieces of fablon cut down to the size of the micro SD Card. Used a sharp pencil to draw the outline of the card onto the fablon, then cut it out using a scapel. Then stuck it to the label side of the Micro SD.
Worked like a charm. Only problem I had was trying to get the backing off the fablon, without getting it stuck to my fingers (borrowing the wife's finger nails [with her attached] helped).
Thanks a million.
I had the same problem now it is solved thanks to you guy youtu.be/NoGPfQim3LM

Did someone experience any issues with the sticky note fix? I am a big afraid to insert into the SD card slot.
