DCR-PC5E double bleeping noise - won't play videos

Hi

My DCR-PC5E keeps making a double bleeping noise for about 5 seconds each time I turn it on. A small upward facing icon flashes in the middle of the screen at the same time, as does the counter display in the top left hand corner of the screen (whcih has the letter 'C' in front of it, which I don't remember seeing before)

Someone please help.

Robert

I know this sounds like a joke but someone did post a fix for Self Diagnosis code C:31:22 in the past - I remember it because it was so improbable.

The fix was to power off completely, remove the battery, turn the camera upside down and than give it a couple of sharp slaps on the bottom!

I cannot find the actual thread but it did work for several people.

P.S. - I have just found this link: -

Hi Robert,

Have a look at Pages 166 - 167 of your Operating Instructions.  Does anything look like your problem?  Corrupted file perhaps?

Hi Blencogo,

It looks like the problem is something that needs more advanced help... it was Self-Diagnosis code 31.

How do you find someone who can repair this device, without getting ripped off? Any ideas?

Regards

Robert
