DVD Reorder RDR-HXD870

Like other contributors to this and other sites, I have a Sony DVD recorder that does not function properly after last week's Freeview upgrade.  I have retuned to no effecct and tried solutions offered on the internet - switching off using the control panels, retuning with the aerial unplugged, etc.  All to no effect.  The recorder retunes to the old Freeview channel numbers and the EPG is available.  As soon as I switch off and on again, the picture and the EPG are no longer available.

Will Sony provide a fix, or i am to be left with a piece of redundant equipment?

Unsure why you have posted this here and not in the main thread.  But have you tried this potential solution:

These RDR recorders are years old now.  All firmware development has ceased long ago.

I did come across this solution and had tried it before posting my query.

I have tried it again in the last few days and the DVD recorder is behaving as it did before the upgrade. I can see the guide, see TV pictures through the recorder, and record programmes.
