SONY UBP-X800 loads BD & UHD discs without audio

This problem appears to be intermittent.

Upon inserting a BD or UHD disc, the film starts without audio. The only way I have found to remedy this is to STOP and then PLAY the movie again. Audio is restored immediately.

This is a simple setup; X800 connected via HDMI out (port 1) to SONY TV. Before I call tech support, I wanted to see if anyone else had experienced the same.

Hi there

I have no experience on the UBP-X800 - but there is another person on another thread that is having an issue.  I am wondering if maybe you could try helping each other.

That poster says Sony X800 in the Subject, but then talks about the Panasonic UB900 in the body of the posting 😞

I wonder what he actually has there?

If it's a simple connection player-> TV

there is a chance that it's the audio track of your blurays. TV can't support Dolby/dtsHD track that are fed to them by HDMI

What's the audio output that is selected in the player set up?
