firmware upgrade to v2.0 on slt-a55v

hi

i am considering upgrading the firmware on my slt-a55v to version 2.0.

i notice the upgrade program is the same for the a55 and the a55v.

does the program detect the model and install the correct firmware?

just asking as i do not want to brick my a55v.

and also, is the upgrade worthwhile for new features or bug fixes??

The a55v tech support page has the official update and can be relied upon to get you to v2.0

Improvements, from the update page:

• Addition of the [Picture Effect] function.
• Enable to assign often-used features to the D-RANGE button for customization.
• Addition of a new mode to turn off display parameters.
• Improved operability of the Menu.
• High-Speed Synchronization via wireless lighting operation of the applicable external flash.
• Addition of Digital level gauge when using the optional external monitor such asthe Clip-on LCD Monitor, the CLM-V55.
