Hello, this is my first post, so if has already been covered, I apologise.

Does anyone know when/if sony will ever provide a firmware upgrade for the 5N ? i've had mine for a while but think i'll sell it if there won't be any upgrade. I would like to have the ability to lock off the video button, use bracketing with the self timer, or remote, and with 5 or 7 shots over a much greater range than 0.7ev.

I don't know if anyone knows if anything is in the pipeline, but any info would help.

Not sure if have already updated but there is a firmware update available for the NEX-5N that was released on 01/03/2012

Apart from the update above I am not aware of any newer firmware updates in the pipeline..

I have v1.01 ,but was wondering if there is anything like the recently announced nnugrade for the Nex 7.

I very rarely use the video mode and keep pressing the record button accidently. The upgrade to bracket up to +/- 3.0ev would be useful. I also would like to bracket photos with the camera on a tripod but currently cannot do this as there is no way to do it.

Such a pity really as apart from these things, it's a really great little camera, but if it can't do what I want, then it'll probably have to go.

There's no real way of predicting if and when an firmware update will happen, unfortunately. The best thing to do is regularly check the update page that Thalamus linked to, as well as the numerous internet forums which specialise in Sony rumours...

Can you explain how your tripod prevents you bracketing your exposures? There should be no physical barrier to this with tripod use

We do get a number of 5N owners concerned at the ease with which the video record button can be activated. I'm not sure if this is potentially something that can be fixed with a firmware update but I do know Sony product developers watch these thread for feedback so it's always useful to make your views known here.

Maybe worth mentioning that the newer NEX-5G video record button now resides on a much less prone place on the camera body.
