I have a sony dcr-trv16e camcorder, the cable that came with the device is a ilink(firewire) to USB.
I am running windows 7 professional 64bit, when i connect the device to my laptop, it recognises that a device has been connected; but its is an unkown device, due to the fact that it cannot install the drivers. I have tried the various imaging software, and have even tired updating drivers through device manager; all to no avail. I have obviosuly set the correct settings on the camcorder for transfer via usb.
Apparently sony uk website no longer supports this device and points me to the Chinese sony website, which is great if i could read Chinese
Thank you, in anticipation of your assistance
It does not work that way.
In the PC you need a FireWire input, that's fine by an external USB card, but not a FireWire > USB cable.
USB cable and PlayMemories Home? Nothing?
The old software (+ Driver), not available, was PIXELA ImageMixer Ver.1.0 for Sony.
Sorry for my bad english... (thanks Google).
