Hello friends
My Sony Xperia M (C1904)battery draining fast
i recharged battery yesterday
it was showing 99% but after 5-10 mins it dropped to 74%
i changed battery a year ago and with internet off the battery was lasting for atleast 24hrs
now what to do check battery usage screenshot
do i ned to again buy new battery ?
Hi @sash_007, sorry to hear about this.
In the photo "Cell standby" is in the top and this is the service that controls the network connection.
I can see in the picture that you have a good network connection (full bars), however do you know if during the day, you are in a different place where the cell reception isn't as good? This can cause the battery to drain faster as it will need to send signals back and forth to keep an active connection, instead of having a stable 3G/4G connection and not having to send as many signals.
You can also try restarting your device in safe mode and keep it there for a few hours and see if there is a change when downloaded applications aren't loaded.
Let me know if that helps!
hello Jonas
thanks for reply
I mostly work from home as webdesigner
so this happened to me while at home..
when i bought new battery the battery ..the battery was lasting for a day
so as you said i rebooted phone in safe and will keep there for few hours!
and post the results..
but my query is can i use all apps in safe mode ?
keep my intenet on in safemode all the time?
how long is it safe to run phone in safe mode ?
also one more thing i noticed that if i dont reachrge my phone after it reaches 60% the phone battery drains really fast and it takes really long to recharge
Hi again!
In safe mode, all downloaded applications are temporarily disabled and this is a mode used for troubleshooting, for example if your battery drains during the night when you aren't using the device and it's fine in safe mode, it's a downloaded application that is causing the drain of the battery.
You can use all the pre-installed applications, make phone calls, use Internet as normal, send and receive text messages and so forth, it's only downloaded applications that are not loaded.
You can have the device restarted in safe mode for how long as you like, it has not negative impact on the device itself.
Regarding that it takes a long time to recharge the device once it drops to 60%. Does it matter if you charge the device while is powered off, or does it take just long as long as it would be turned on? This will of course depend on if you use the device while it's powered on or not, since if you are using the device while you are charging it, it will take longer to charge it to full as the battery is being used.
Keep me posted!
Hello
i always charge with phone turned off
i just checked my battery ..it was swollen ..so i ordered a new battery
Hi again @sash_007!
Oh, I see and that explains what was wrong.
I would not recommend that you use the device with the swollen battery though, so wait for your new battery to arrive before using the device again.
Have a great weekend!
