Hello there, I have a m4 aqua e2306, everything is fine and perfect after marshmallow update, but I have an issue with the fm radio app, stereo is not working, all stations are in mono mode, and everytime I want to open this it takes like 12 seconds to open it, i tried to delete the cache/data but it didn't worked, i noticed today that the stereo mode will work only if someone send me a chat via whatsapp, notification sound starts, pauses the radio and it resumes automatically in stereo mode.
Sorry for my bad English and I hope you guys can fix it, i can see this issue was on the Xperia z series after marshmallow update a few months ago.
Thanks

With Android 6.0, the FM radio was updated and allowed to automatically select between mono and stereo output depending on the signal to noise (SNR) of the incoming signal. This means that you, depending on the signal received, might experience that the FM radio sound has changed or that stereo has been removed.
But it´s strange because even if the signal is higher the app will still run as mono, but anyways it seems like an issue from the new android update. At this moment, I have stopped using this app because i prefer to use music streaming services, it´s more popular and has tons of songs lol.
Thank you for your reply.
I am having the same problem with Android 7 and FM radio version 4.0.11, but have not updated to Marshmallow, therefore how can I get a Stereo signal?.
I have Android 7.0 and the FM sound is in Mono whether Stereo is enabled or not, therefore how can I now get Stereo sound. I live in Cambridge, and Stereo sound worked when I was in Durham last year.
