Last saturday, the phone was at 5% battery. I put it to charge (wall charger, fyi), and it rebooted, and it got stuck on SONY logo screen. The screen turns off, then the logo comes again, and so on, ad infinitum.
I tried to repair with the newest Xperia Companion. No luck, I'm still stuck to the logo screen. Btw it's different, now: I had the logo with black background, now the logo has a WHITE background. I guess the recovery tried to update it to Android 6 MM.
freaking phone, worst thing ever. I had the rebooting problem but I got used to it, then now. I'm done with you, Sony. You were good once.
Hi @M4AquaPanic,
I'm sorry you're experiencing issues with your M4.
Can you please try removing your SIM and SD card, then hold the power button and volume up button at the same time, until it vibrates 3 times, then try to turn your phone on again?
Thank you, CameronT, for trying to help. All slots empty, PWR+UP for about 10 seconds until phone vibrates 3 times (a hard reset I guess), buttons released. After 30 seconds, I pushed power button alone to achieve the same outcome: Sony logo on white bg, screen off, sony logo, screen off... No notification LED. Phone is currently off again (vibrated 3 times)
That's unfortunate. Can you please try a software repair on your device?
This process will erase your handset, and without being able to turn it on you do not have an option to back it up.

Should I give it another try?
Oh, my apologies, I misread that. If you have completed the software repair and are still experiencing the same issue, then it would be best if you arrange to have the handset assessed by your local support team.
There's no need to do the software repair again. Hopefully they can come to a quick solution for you. Good luck.
No problem, sir. I did a 2nd repair. Sony logo, then powered by android logo, screen off, Sony logo, so no positive outcome.
I guess there's no choice, I'll take it to the nearest (50 miles) Sony center. Thank you for your time.
You can contact your local support team via phone or email first to arrange the repair. I am not sure what your local processes are but they may be able to help you arrange something. Use the link in my signature to find the support team for your region.
Dealing with the same issue.
If you could tell, how were you able to solve the problem
I have the same issue
