Battery level drops to 1% suddenly - Xperia mini pro

Hi Guys..

I Bought a new Xperia mini pro about 3 weeks back and it was so cool and I had no problems up till last week.

The prblem of the phone is, the battery level drops to 1% suddenly from 20%. And it says battey is 1% and it'll shut down. I didn't do anything, no rooting nothing. it is same as new..

It happened about 4 times during this last week.

all 4 times it dropped from 20% or 17% or something to 1%. I'm really scared about that and somebody please help me what can i do regarding that.??

and when i connect it to the charger following that, the charging starts from 17%, NOT FROM 1%!! THAT IS REALLY ODD RIGHT!!??

I'm having Gingerbread 4.0.2.a.0.42screenshot_2012-01-18_2034.png

here is a screenshot of that..

look at the right most end of the graph.. you can see the sudden fall..

Please help me..

This could just be a software problem causing the handset to display the incorrect battery level given that it appears to return to the actual level when connected to a charger. With this being the case I would first advise running a software update:

Hello,

I'm having exactly the same problem mentioned above (even 17% is accurate) on my xperia mini pro. My version is Gingerbread 4.0.2.1.0.58 - supposed to be the latest software.

Any ideas about that?

Thank you.

Hi, it could be either a software or battery issue. See if software repair as suggested by Sam is able to resolve this issue. Be aware that this process will erase phone data completely (SD Card not affected), backup if necessary.

What i did was to remove the battery and insert it again. Then it will reflect the correct battery levels.

Thanx sam, I updated the firmware in to 4.0.2.a.0.62.

Now no problem with the battery.

But now there is another problem.

I think it is a bug in the android update.

When i record a video, after i stop it, after saving when i try to play it, it says "video cannot be played",

both system video player and mobo player both say "video cannot be played", and sometimes after saving the video, it says "camera not availabe":smileycry:

I don't know what to do, it was ok before i update it. after i update to .62, this problem came.

and sometimes the gallery go crazy. It shows only 2 folders, other folders dissapear. (I had more than 10 folders).

all those problems started after i update.

please help me what to do..

moderators, please complain this to SE and give us a bug-fixed update.

I cant cope with this any more.

thanx in advance..

Hi,

Is there any bug in software or is it the battery problem. I faced the same issue yesterday. I'm having lastest update of 4.0.2.1.0.62 mini pro.

Seems many are facing the same problem

Hi, see if this works .... remove and install battery,  then monitor again. If still the same, suggest reflashing firmware again.

Keep us updated.

Recharged the battery till 100%. Then i removed and reinserted the battery. Surprised to see my battery level at 85%. Again recharged to 100%.  Got my 1st low battery warning on 15%. So I think problem solved as of now. Dont know whether It will occur again. Have to test my mobile for a week. But definitely there iss some issue with software or battery that must be addressed.
