how do i find if my xperia arc LT15i is locked to my network provider? if it is can i still upgrade to ics manually?
Solved! Go to Solution.
flashing will only debrand your phone
it WON't
1) unlock your bootloader
2) root
3) unlock your phone (from your network)

turn it off then on do you see your network's logo? do you have an app from your network? can you use another SIM card from another network with your phone?
thanks 4 that, there is no logo on start up so i presume it isn't locked, i will follow your link to manually upgrade, and thanks again, much appreciated:smileycool:

hi uliwooly...does flashing using flashtool unlock the handset, can you confirm?
Ah, I see...i flashed my GB 2.3.4 into my Arc bought from a network provider way back (thanks to you!) as I am not getting it through PCC and then, to my surprise, I now got the ICS through SUS. So, i guess debranding also sets the phone free from OS update restriction by a network provider?
check wotanser if you want to unlock your phone
the only way you could find that is by inserting other network sim card into your Xperia arc.. If it works fine then it is unlocked.. if not you need to unlock it...If you want you can have a look up at this free guide called Mobileunlockguide.com … where you can find instruction how to unlock your phone step by step...
