K800i menu.ml error

Hi, I hope someone can help. When I start up my K800 and select menu  I get a screen saying "Errors occur in the menu.ml file. This may render the menu unuseable". If I OK this and progress to the menu options, 'Settings' icon is completely missing. I have updated software to ty to reinstall the full menu but had no luck with this. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

I'm afraid you need to use a repair centre.

Have you tried a master reset?

Not applicable

Hi and thanks for the suggestion.

I haven't tried a Master reset as this is one of the options under the 'Settings > General' menu which is missing. As well as this I'm also missing Blue tooth (under Connectivity), Time and Date, Sounds, Handsfree, etc (in fact all Settings are unavailable - the complete icon and Settings sub menus are missing).

Any more suggestions will be gratefully received.

http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/support/softwaredownloads/detailed/pcsuite/k800i?cc=gb&lc=en The try phone repair via PC suite, which you can download from this link. The repair option is under the Help tab of PC suite and the phone needs to be switched off for this process.

Hi and thanks again for the help.

I've already tried update and repair via PC Suite (original disc which came with phone and from SE web site) and also with the newer PC Companion (also off SE site). Neither have addressed the problem. I've tried installing different SIM's but the problem is still there. Any ideas on the next step?

Thanks for all your help with this. I was afraid it would end up as a Repair centre job, but I wanted to explore any sother options first. I'll try with local Service repair and see how I get on.
