Well, then I'd say there is nothing wrong with the phone. As long as the tags are working, it will be able to detect any other NFC devices as well. Just make sure NFC is turned on in both ends. You need to put the phones NFC-spots at eachother for them to detect. Just give it a few more tries and I'm sure it will work just as you want it to.
just tested it it detects smart tag but wont detect other phone (xperia s) and theres no N letter on the top when is turned on...
I had this problem and had to re-install the update, which fixed the problem for me
I re-installed 2 times once with pc companion and other time with update service and still the same problem,NFC finds smart tags but won't find any other nfc device and also when its turned on theres no N mark on the notification bar...
can sony moderators please give me some suggestion regarding this problem?thanks
Myne too, when its turned on theres no N mark on the notification bar. I updated twice and the problem not solved..
glad to hear I'm not the only one...lets hope it'll be fixed soon...
This has been changed in JB. There won't be any icon for it when activated (I guess it's because there are already tons of icons for everything in the status bar). If you want to see if it's on or off, add the widget or check the menus. Did the NFC work with other devices before the update? Because if the tags are still working, it seems like the NFC itself is working as intended.
I bought my Xperia T last week and it was on ICS out of the box and as soon as I opened it I put my sim in it and connected it to PC launched PC companion and there was JB update and ofcourse I updated it...I didn't test NFC on ICS so I don't know...it just won't detect my brothers Xperia S (on ICS) I took my friends Galaxy S3 on JB and it detects brothers Xperia S without problems but my Xperia T won't it only detects smart tags...
