Hi ppl, I'm a Sony Xperia advance (ST27a) user. Seems that Sony Xperia go is getting ics updates . No news about advance. Didn't find update when connected with pc companion or web Sony software updater . I'm getting pretty much concerned if I'm gonna get ics or not? I don't like rooting and prefer to get wait if stock update is around the corner . I got my ics in my moto xoom 3g. It's cool. Would love to get it in my Xperia advance .please enlighten me Sony .

[XGO] Jelly Bean 6.2.A.0.400 (4.1.2) FTF (Unrooted)
Check this out. I hope that can help you. Check my post ok?
Thanks, but it would be great if the developers or moderators of this forum put up the ftf files for the Xperia Advance st27a specifically the U.S. Version. One that can be use by Pc Companion to update. Please there is already many post and discussions open in here with lost of ftf, but none for the Xperia Advance (Go) ST27A, can you help me to make that happen? Thanks, believe me it would be a great help for many users.
Thanks, but the problem is that I lost my firmware. Flashing a Rom without doing a full backup of the ICS stock Rom. Technical service is not a possibility for me (I'm not in the U.S.) Please, an ftf file that could be used with Pc companion, specifically for the Xperia Advance St27a... Please!
you can not do that, you need to use flashtool to use an ftf file
As much as I'd like to help, I can't since I haven't got an Xperia advance and simply flashing the Xperia go's firmware results in serious connectivity issues (so don't try it). I'm not even sure if the JB update has been released for the Xperia advance yet - Sony mobile's US site is painfully inconsistent, with the urls and page headings frequently flip-flopping between the go and advance.
And with regard to:
use by PC Companion to update
That is impossible - PC Companion always downloads its firmware from Sony's servers. But there is a way around that - Flashtool (important note: it does not require bootloader unlocking. Not to be confused with Sony's own official Flash tool - that one is only for phones with unlocked bootloaders, so ignore it). Flashtool takes FTF files and flashes them into the phone, so you'll have to hunt down said FTFs that contain the JB firmware.
Again guys thanks
for all your answers, check the link: you’ll understand what I want and what I need… I already know what you are pointing out please read my post in there so you can understand what I’m asking:

So Help me “hunt” that particular ftf file the U.S. 4.0.4 ICS compilation 6.1.1.B.1.10, so I can do exactly this (davidzam is me in there):

I know is possible that the JB update may not yet be released for the Americas, I can wait for that, all I need is a ftf file that can do exactly what the 2.3.7 for the St27a from Thailand did.
As Harvey Dent said: “Carbon fiber, .28 caliber. Made in China. If you want to kill a public servant, Mr. Maroni, I recommend you buy American”
I want the U.S customization, Not the Asiatic one, I found a bug with sound on the in calls (too low) I just want to find a solution for that. Thanks.
Lest HUNT together
