Can I still watch TV on A617s

Hi all
First post here and a couple of ?'s

Firstly, I've recently got an A617s and watch tv on the computer but as the analogue signal stops tomorrow (here in Manchester) is there any way I can continue ? The Vaio only has an aerial socket and I'm guessing I need a scart connection to connect with Freeview, correct ?

Secondly, I can't get the remote that came with the computer to change channels or indeed anything. I've changed batteries to no effect - do I need to activate anything ..... or should it just happen ?

thanks for any replies

Well, to answer one of my own ?'s
If anyone has the RC-VC10E remote and it doesn't do what it should, there's a small app under \Program Files\Sony\VAIO Zone Remote Commander\AvRmtCtr that will make it happen.

Hi cortala and welcome to Club Vaio.

It depends on what outputs you have from your digibox. Most digiboxes have an ariel in and out - so you should be able to scan for the output RF channel with your Vaio.

If your Vaio's docking station has composite video inputs (Yellow, Red, White) then a scart to 3 X phono cable should work. Something like THIS ONE

By far the simplest (and possibly cheapest) solution is to buy a new USB DVB-T receiver like one of these: -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_ss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=dvb-t+usb+tuner&x=0&y=0

but it will not work with Vaio Zone. It will probably come with its own software for tuning, viewing and recording live TV.
