hi. i own a pcg-v505cp.
my graphiccard (ati 9200)experienced some difficulties and i thought about updating my ati drivers or adding sone extra memories for my ati graphiccard. i even thought about changing my graphiccard.
on normal pcs this would be no problem, but on notebooks it seems to be impossible (whereas it should not be!)
has somebody more information for me?
thx
marcos
Sorry it's not possible as Sony have not issued an update.
this is what i can not understand. all computers work on the same principles. therefore it must be possible to change the hardware or to update the drivers software!
this fact cannot be ignored.
i welcome everybody to help to get any forther information!

I don;t get it either, Sony should really issue new drivers often.
BTW I don't work for Sony.
well. first of all i would need a detailed technical sheet for my laptop and graphiccard.
ill try it at ati too :).
maybe someone knows, where i can find these information.

p.s. ill tried to send a email to sony, but i didnt find any address. (i had problems logging into the e-support!)
Try Vaio Village, they are more into unofficial drivers for video cards:

If they can't help I don't know who else to try.
I am rather curious why you purchased a laptop if video cards are of major importance, there are very very few laptops that allow you to change the video card and these daughter cards are a premium price.
Kee-Lo, Sony have released one update for the GRX Video chip/card.

thx very much .. ill try it
Yeah one in two and a half years since the GRX came out.
Kee-Lo,
I have never had any problems with graphics have you?
I never intended my GRX to be a gaming platform, I have learnt from experience that games are best left to the PS2 and X-Box.
