I actually think I'm going to scream.
My husband bought 2 Sony Vaios recently, one for his business use and one to put away for my son for Christmas.
My husbands laptop (the only one we've tried at the moment as I daren't set the other one up!!) will connect to his wireless network in his office (BT Home Hub)
I have just brought his laptop into the house and tried to connect to our wireless Netgear WG111T, it says its connected (sometimes) but then try and open a web page and there is no internet connection.
I am also periodically getting the yellow exclamation mark on the signal strength saying 'no internet'
I am not very techie at all. My son's XBOX connects to our wireless fine and I do have it security enabled with a password. I deleted the network from hubbies laptop and let it find it again - still same problem.
I really don't want to start messing with my router as others have connected to it fine (when I've given them the password!!)
I have tried to update the wireless driver but it says its up to date.
I really don't want to get the other laptop out the box.... whats the point of having a wireless laptop when you can only connect to one network EVER.
Any help on this would be appreciated.
Are any of the other working PCs using Windows 7?
What is your Netgear Router model - you are quoting WG111T which is the bit you plug into the laptop, not the router.
I think you need to look for a firmware upgrade for your router from Netgear to be able to connect to a Windows 7 A/G/N wireless card.
