unexpected shutdown sony vaio

Hi I am having issues with my vaio svt1313 shutting down unexpectedly. Sometimes I get to login then it shuts down sometimes I can open up and start working on something,e.g. Office word, then it shuts down. I only bought this laptop a few months ago. The only other issue I have had was a week ago trying to save a PowerPoint with video and it kept crashing but not turning off. I can't find anything useful in Sony's support pages. Any advice?

I presume you have downloaded and installed all the Sony and Microsoft updates for your model?

If your Vaio is fully patched and up to date I would speak to Sony Vaio Support to see if this problem is known to them.

The most common cause is overheating - but it sounds like this happens to you at startup.
