after a crash I performed a complete formate with the recovery disc on my VGN Z56VG
and now there is no sound, no blue tooth, no winow 7 only simple ex, not able to fix the problem.
Which disc have you used?
1. Recovery Discs you made when the Vaio was new?
or 2. The XP Downgrade disc supplied with your Vaio?
If you want XP installed try running the XP Disc followed by the XP Downgrade Installer 4.0 from here: -
http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/updates/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-Z56VG&os=6
If you want Windows 7 installed, try tapping F10 when you see the first Vaio splash screen and follow the instructions for a full recovery.
If you have formatted the drive and not made a set of recovery discs as advised, you will need to contact Vaio Support and purchase a set of recovery discs.

Thank you so much for the reply.
I have used the disc that came along: XP Professional Install Disc
I did not get the chance to create the Recovery Disc
I guess I need to buy a new set of recovery discs but why isnt there any sound?
Have you run the Downgrade Installer in the link above?
You may have to be online at the time to download some files.
