Hi all,
Anybody done the upgrade as above?
I contacted AverMedia for W-7 drivers for the M115s Hybrid TV card; they said that although there are W-7 drivers available, I could only obtain them from Sony, as the card is an OEM product. Contacted Sony, but all I got was that 'your model isn't eligible for the Upgrade Program"!
The W-7 upgrade advisor only lists this as a possible problem, so really would like to upgrade if possible.
Many thanks,
Colin
Hi Colin,
I have upgraded my VGC-LT2S to windows 7, and i would say the worst problem is that the hot keys no longer work, volume, s1 s2 s3 etc, and sony offers no solution to this.
so come on sony make windows 7 drivers avaliable to us all.
Zannick,
Thanks for that.
This is the first computer I've ever bought 'pre-built'. I've always done my own in the past, but SHMBO saw this one and was so taken, we decided to get it for the Study. However, it appears Sony is like most other major Companies and just 'forget' older models.
I did telephone their support and all they could suggest, was to upgrade to a new model which already has W-7. I'm afraid we live in the real world and just cannot spend money like that.

95% of Vista drivers and Utilties will work OK with Windows 7.
Colin, as long as you carry out an Upgrade In-Place most of your Vista drivers will work - including the TV-Tuner. All I had to do was retune the TV tuner in Media Centre. On some models you need to reinstall the Graphics driver.
Zannick, have you carried out a clean install? If you have you need to reinstall the Vista Utilities for your model to get the Fn and Special Keys to work. You can download the Original Utilities Package from here: -
