Winddvd disappeared after i upgraded from window vista to window 7. how can i get my soft ware back@ it came pre-installed with vista.

If you bought an UPGRADE Version of Windows 7, you will still have WinDVD installed.

However, if you have bought a full version of Windows 7 and formatted your drive and carried out a clean install you will lose ALL the preinstalled software. Programs like WinDVD are only licensed by Corel to be used as part of the Sony Software Suite.  They cannot be installed free on any other retail operating system.

If you change the operating system, you will have to buy relacements for WinDVD and other programs. 

The easy way is to use an UPGRADE program.
