Right. Just got a new Xperia Z F5321 the other day.
Tried to move data from old phone, and it didn't work very well, leaving a lot of pictures and jumbling date order up of those transferred.
Then software told me an update was ready, so downloaded it onto PC then followed instructions to load onto phone. Phone powered itself down, then android picture appeared with "Installing System Update, and a progress bar that has been stuck on about two thirds across for about an hour. Won't respond to any buttons except turing it off, then it just goes back to same screen.
Not impressed.
Why should this be difficult? Was wary about getting another Sony, but this might be going back to the shop.
Update:...is going back to shop tomorrow.
Hi @Whitegsrider,
Welcome to the community.
If the update has not applied itself correctly or has failed in some way, you can usually fix it by running a software repair using Xperia Companion.

Cameron, is there a way for users to check hash manually after XC had downloaded the firmware? Or does XC hash check automatically? There's a few threads popping up with failed updates via XC
Not that I'm aware of. If there is a way I cannot find out how to based on the information I currently have available to me.
