Hi, can anybody confirm to see a similar problem ?

I have connected a bluetooth mouse and a bluetooth keyboard to the Z Tablet.

My Wifi seems to have then interferences and can not get data in or out even if the signal strength is on full bars.

When I switch off my Bluetooth devices the WIFI is back on right away.

Also just one Bluetooth device is causing the problem however it looks to me as not as severe.

Hi. I just received my "Anker Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard" and ran into the same problem. I can confirm the problem with two different wireless networks. Both routers are set up to use a fixed channel that is not used by any other network within reach and signal strength is around -60.

Did anyone find a solution so far? It appears to me that although the many problem threads across the web show that this problem quite common, Sony didn't really react to it so far. Or did I miss some vital information?

If I have a look at the legends of those who posted here , it seems we are all new to the forum.The only senior One was the reply from Sony and he dismissed it .

I leave it to you to make sense out of it.

For my part I investigated a lot in this problem and it is for me a real problem, regardless of what a Sony employee tried to drop on us as an answer.

I can not believe that this is an Android problem, otherwise we would hear a lot of it.

It seems a conceptual problem of the Xperia Z tablet. because my Xperia cel phone works fine with bluetooth mouse and wifi.(Just for the fun of it, I do not really need a mouse on my cel-phone )

It is a real problem for me. I just paid $499 for my first Andoid based tablet, switching from an iPad, and it is advertised that it has Wifi and Bluetooth. It is not advertised as having Wifi OR Bluetooth. And that is what mine is.

Thinking it was a mistake to switch from the iPad. It may be limited in stuff it will do, but at least the things it is advertised to do, it does, and does them well.

Very disguested with this.

Just confirming what you guys have written.

I have tested with speedtest.net using a bluetooth keyboard (microsoft wedge) as in my other post.

Bluetooth active but not connected to keyboard:

Download: 27-39Mbps Upload:39-42Mbps

Bluetooth active and connected keyboard:

Download: 2-2.55(!)Mbps Upload: 7-8MBps

Again with bluetooth active and no connected keyboard (just shutdown the keyboard):

Download: 35-37Mbps Upload: 36-40Mbps

Yea, the bluetooth is really not in best condition

It is unbelievable that Sony can release a device having such issue !

Does anybody know if installing a custom ROM may fix this problem ?

So, I guess Sony is stumped, doen't believe it to be a problem, or doesn't care. Not sure which, but being silent to our concerns is not what I would expect from them.

Yes, I also believe this is a problem only with this tablet.

I have and had a lot of Android devices and I used BT and Wifi on all of them w/out any issues.

It's a major bummer as it forces me to occupy the USB port w/ a keyboard and I can't have the tablet charge at the same time.

Now when the forum is back online I would also like to report that both two of my month old Tablet Z's are showing the same issue. The second I connect a bluetooth keyboard or mouse the WiFi connection drops dramatically making it impossible to do anything that requires an internet connection.

The two tablets are the 16Gb WiFi-version and 32Gb WiFi-version.

I've spoken on phone with Sony support here in Sweden and they adviced me to contact a local service shop. If this issue cannot be resolved I'm forced to return my two tablets.

Last night I checked for a firmware update and was pleasantly surprised that one was available. After installing the update I tried using my blue tooth keyboard along with wifi. I was please to find out the problem appears to be resolved as best I can tell.
