Cant Restore from my back up file - Xperia Sola

I took a full back up from my Xperia Sola and now am unable to restore the same. Getting the error "This back up was made on a software version which is newer than the software on your device. It cannot be restored on the connected device. Please select another back up."

Though back up was on Android ICS version only.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Did you perform a back up in PC Companion? If yes, I suggest that you disconnect your phone from the PC and then exit PC Companion completely. Restart your phone and connect it to the computer again to see if you can restore the back up from PC Companion.

Yes I have done the same and did exit the PC companion application. Also I tried restarting the phone as well after disconnecting from the PC. Kindly suggest as it is hampering a lot.

i have the same problem to. it says "backup newer than the software in my device".
