saving contacts

I've had my Xperia Z2 since it came out so around 6 months, had no problems with it until recently I've noticed that any new contacts I've been adding in recent weeks save when added, then disappear soon after as though I'd not added them at all. Please help.

Open your contacts and then tap the 3 dots and check you haven't enabled Filter which will hide certain types of contacts if ticked or enabled
