upload files to web

I am using a z1 compact with the latest 14.4.A.0.108 build. When I'm on a website and trying you upload some files from the phone's storage I can't select them. For example if I want to upload a photo on facebook or attach a file on a forum or email. Usually I try to click on the "choose file" button or whatever and a list comes up with a few choices like "android system" and "documents", but none of them work properly (documents allows me to browse the file system but when a try to select a file nothings happens).

This problem happens on all the browsers I've tried (dolphin, chrome etc).

Please don't suggest I just use the apps for those websites.

When I try to upload a photo to Facebook, I choose Documents.

I am presented with my "Recent files".

Now click on "Recent"and I'm presented with a list of options, like Google Drive, Internal Storage, SD Card, etc.

In Android it's not unusual that the title in the left top corner opens a menu.
